Shrub Trimming
What is Shrub Trimming?
Recommended Frequency: Generally 1-2 times per year
Shrub trimming is a general maintenance necessity for most landscapes. It involves the careful shaping and pruning of applicable landscape plants with the use of powered trimmers or hand pruners. But be careful: Some shrubs prefer a very specific trimming schedule to promote blooming! Here at J and R, we have many expert trimmers on our crews who know how to treat each shrub. Our blades are constantly being honed to a razor’s edge to make sure we make the cut!
Why is Shrub Trimming Important?
- Gives the landscape a fresh and manicured look
- Improves the health of plants and shrubs
- Helps to prevent potential damage from snow-load and wind
- Promotes a more dense growing habit and in some cases increases blooms
- Controls the size and scale of shrubs

“Yes, I would recommend J and R Lawns & Landscapes, Inc. I recently had bushes trimmed in front of my townhouse. They were a bit overgrown and didn’t have any real shape to them any longer. After J and R Lawns came – what a difference. The guys were very professional and courteous. They were quick but paid attention to detail. They cleaned up all the debris from trimming and I didn’t have to do a thing except admire how nice they looked. I would definitely hire J and R Lawns & Landscapes, Inc. again.”
